Reimagined workplace strategy
Channel 4 is the UK’s leading alternative content provider. It launched back in 1982 with the idea of breaking rules and pushing broadcasting boundaries.
Back in 2016 Channel 4 decided they wanted to reimagine their workplace strategy in order to bridge the gap between their brand aspirations and workspaces. Sustainability and inclusivity were high on their priority list. As part of this strategy they created a new national HQ in Leeds, in a rejuvenated historical building in the town centre, known as The Majestic, once a 2,400 seat cinema.
Utilising the top three floors Channel 4 have established a space that houses their highly creative digital operation producing content for distribution across all its platforms. proAV worked closely with CBRE, MCM and Overbury to ensure the open plan, collaborative workplace design concept became a reality.
Our solution
Visitors to the new space are greeted at the 5th floor reception and breakout/bar area by a 98” LG display presenting digital signage content controlled via the Crestron app on an Apple iPad. The remaining space is split into open seating areas, meeting spaces and a divisible boardroom.
Technology in the meeting spaces has been established based on the requirements for adaptability and clean aesthetics. Whilst smaller meeting rooms have fixed furniture with Lenovo Tap Touch controllers on the desk for Teams meeting management, the larger spaces offer more flexibility by providing wall mounted Logitech Tap controllers linked to a fixed LG display with Poly Studio USB soundbar and ceiling mounted Shure microphones. All dedicated meeting rooms have an external Condeco display for room booking.
