Seminar Room Refurbishment
Based in Cambridge, The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences is an international research centre that is dedicated to the advancement of mathematical sciences.
The institute fosters interdisciplinary research, supports early-career researchers, and disseminates mathematical knowledge through workshops, conferences, and publications.
The Institute had been looking to bring the 30-year-old Seminar Room 1 into the 21st century as the technology had become outdated causing unexpected delays and negative user experiences to lecturers, visitors and guests using the seminar room.
"The newly revitalised INI Seminar Room 1 stands as a testament to a project conceived with ambition and delivered with resilience. This ambitious undertaking, spanning twelve months of meticulous planning and a total investment of £120,000, aimed to transform the heart of academic discourse at INI into a cutting-edge learning hub. While unforeseen challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and disrupted supply lines threatened to derail our progress, we navigated these hurdles with proAV’s invaluable partnership, ultimately achieving a result that surpasses our initial vision. They actively sought alternative solutions, maintained open communication throughout the process, and ensured minimal disruption to the project timeline."

Additionally, new technology had to make the space accessible to remote participants who might join live over the internet or want to engage with presentations after they have been completed.
Our solution
The main screen of the Seminar Room uses a Christie WUXGA Laser Projector displaying projects on a 16:10 screen for improved visuals. For audio performance, the Seminar Room uses Yamaha Column Line Speakers and a sub-woofer. Sennheiser TeamConnect Medium Ceiling Microphone Arrays have also been installed to offer audio coverage for both presenter and audience to be heard.
The presenter podium now offers an easy, simplified, method of sharing content using a wired HDMI connection.; now eliminating delays and delivering seamless presentation of high-quality visuals. Additionally, the use of the Barco C-10 Gen 2 Clickshare offers extra efficient options for presenters to share screens wirelessly.
