Empowering Young Talent in the AV Industry

23/10/24

At proAV, we’re connecting with young talent to shape the future of the Audio Visual industry. By offering exciting career opportunities and engaging at key events, we’re planning the way for the next generation of leaders.

proAV recently had the pleasure of attending two careers events: one at Royal Holloway, University of London, and the other at the Surrey Festival of Skills held at Surrey Sports Park. At these events, we were excited to showcase a variety of career opportunities, including Placement Programmes, Graduate Programmes, Apprenticeships, Internships, Work Experience, and Full-time roles. It was great to engage with students, learn about the diverse courses they are pursuing, and see the enthusiasm for careers in the Audio Visual industry!

At our stand, we displayed PTZ cameras with face-tracking technology, offering students a hands-on demonstration of AV in action. We also brought a rack build, allowing students to see the build process in real-time rather than just viewing it on a screen, which made for a more engaging experience. Additionally, we used a project design schematic for a fun competition, where students guessed how many HDMI cables were in the drawing to win a prize. Some clever tricks, like HDMI ports instead of cables, added to the enjoyment! Both events saw high participation, and it was a great opportunity to connect with students and understand their aspirations.

Young Talent, Future Leaders Program

These events align perfectly with our ongoing Young Talent, Future Leaders program, which focuses on promoting career opportunities for the younger generation in the AV industry. Our goal is to make AV more appealing by showcasing the exciting possibilities within the field. By engaging with students, we can further emphasise our commitment to nurturing young talent and demonstrating the diverse roles available in Technology, HR, Marketing, Rack Building, and IT.

We believe that young talent in the AV industry is often undermined or not fully recognised. However, there is significant potential for them to make a meaningful impact. By bringing fresh and innovative ideas, young professionals can help us stay current with industry trends and improve our practices. For instance, hiring a recent university graduate could mean gaining insights into the latest trends, enhancing our social media presence, or leveraging new technologies to improve operational efficiency. We are committed to empowering the next generation of leaders in the AV industry. Our Young Talent, Future Leaders program is an essential part of this mission, and we look forward to fostering this talent as we continue to connect with the future workforce at events like these.

Introducing proAV to Tomorrow's Leaders

At proAV, we are committed to presenting ourselves to the younger generation by actively engaging with them through career events and creating exciting opportunities. By attending these events, we not only showcase who we are but also build brand awareness among young professionals who are eager to explore the vast possibilities within the AV industry. It’s about opening doors, fostering connections, and demonstrating how proAV can help shape their future careers.

As the AV industry evolves, there is a clear shift towards embracing young professionals. This trend is well recognised through initiatives like the Inavate EMEA 40 Under 40 celebration, which highlights the future of the AV industry by honouring rising stars under the age of 40. These young professionals are pushing the boundaries of innovation and bringing fresh, unique ideas and technological expertise to the field. They represent the next wave of leadership within the AV community.

The Inavate 40 Under 40 acknowledges those who are not only excelling but also reshaping the industry with their creativity and forward-thinking approaches. This aligns with our mission at proAV to attract and empower the next generation of AV professionals through initiatives like our Young Talent, Future Leaders program. Together, we are building a future where young talent thrives, technology evolves, and the AV industry continues to break new ground.

Conclusion

There’s no shortage of talent or skills in the AV industry. The opportunities are vast, and as an industry, we should aim to appeal to a wide range of individuals, welcoming new talent across all sectors. We shouldn’t limit ourselves but instead continue to embrace diversity and innovation to move the industry forward.

At proAV, we are dedicated to making a positive impact through initiatives like our Young Talent, Future Leaders program. By attending more career events and actively engaging with the younger generation, we are committed to shaping the future of the AV industry and empowering the next generation of professionals to take the lead. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, explore the opportunities at proAV and discover how you can be part of the future of AV.
